Movie: Seven Pounds

Interpretation:
7 pounds- the approximate weight of the human heart. that is the thread in this movie. Heart representing love. broken/defective heart representing shame. this movie was about a man who accidentally caused a car accident & he is torn apart by his feelings of guilt. he spends the rest of his life trying to redeem himself by choosing people who are worthy of Life. He literally gives all of himself up: his heart & organs to other people to repent for his life. This movie is a perfect PERFECT metaphor about SHAME- how it prevents you from moving on, from ever healing, and keeps you tied to your guilt and defectiveness. This movie was incredible, flawless. I wished he could have seen his worth, but true to shame, he literally could not. this movie moved me to the deepest depths of loss, loneliness, despair and feelings of overwhelming helplessness. this is probably my favorite movie because of how deep it goes. and then the movie shows how his self sacrifice benefited these people. unfortetunately though, many of these people loved him & it hurt them immensely to lose him- he just couldn't see that it was possible for him to be lovable. absolutely excellent movie.
