While this is a very common archetype, I believe that Donnie represents Jesus in a "tangent" universe. Jim Cunningham represents the devil, blatantly showed when Donnie say "I think you're the f***ing anti-christ, but is also shown by Donnie burning down his house after leaving "The Last Temptation of Christ." At the same time Sparkle Motion is being shown which represents temptation in a world that is obsessed with sex. Jim Cunningham has a "kitty porn" circle which, again, represents temptation.
The big Asian girl represents humanity around Jesus. While Donnie might not preach to open crowds like Jesus, his actions represent his values. The Asian girl has a crush on Donnie without knowing him too well. This shows humanity's blind following of religion and more specifically Christianity. -

Mason jar is very nice, but I think that also has something to do with cnonotation, at least for me As in, I like drinking out of mason jars, ergo, the words make me happy.I love the word flats to describe landscape. Something like great brown flats, I die over.I also love the word Buffalo one day I will write something with that title. I just don't know what yet.Somewhere I have a file of titles for things I've never written, but I like the words for a title.John McPhee has great titles.I think I should stop thinking out loud.
