My feelings are that this movie is actually a sexual fantasy between the couple. Well, from a certain point. I think the kid was real and the girl really did die, but the rest of it was, yknow, just a fantasy.
ps. i have not actually seen the film, but i've read the wikipedia synposis and texted a friend who has seen the movie. She agreed with my thoughts.
